Pennsylvania Sex Offenders
Pennsylvania State Law
Both sexual offenders and sexually violent predators are subject to the registration requirement of Megan's Law. Certain out-of-state sexual offenders are also subject to registration under Pennsylvania's Megan's Law.
Sexually violent predators are sex offenders, convicted on or after July 8, 2000, who have been determined by the Court, after evaluation by the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board (SOAB), to possess a mental abnormality or personality disorder that makes the individual likely to engage in predatory sexually violent behaviors. Information on this specific class of sex offenders is available to the public for notification purposes.
